The highest debut comes from MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE (G) (US$160,148 / 23 screens), followed by JIGSAW (M18) (US$135,124 / 16 screens), ALWAYS BE WITH YOU 常在你左右 (NC16 Edited), A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS (NC16 Edited) and THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US (M18).
ALWAYS BE WITH YOU and A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS are the 19th and 20th edited releases of the year. ABWY is also the 11th film in which the edited version is released in lieu of a "passed clean" version with a more restrictive rating.
Amongst holdovers, HAPPY DEATH DAY (PG13) has grossed an estimated US$573,254, while CHASING THE DRAGON 追龙 (NC16), the second highest grossing Asian film of the year has amassed an estimated US$1,479,962.
New entrants outside the top ten include NO GAME NO LIFE ZERO (PG13) (5 GV screens), BRAD'S STATUS (M18) (US$3,885 / 2 Shaw screens) and OVERSIZE COPS (PG) (2 FilmGarde screens).
Over on the independent release circuit, The Projector brings in PATTI CAKE$ (NC16) which kicked off 3 Nov after a launch party on 1 Nov.
