THE MEG is #1 for a 2nd Week

Singapore - THE MEG (PG13) commands the no. 1 spot for a 2nd weekend. The Jason Statham shark pic has now grossed an estimated US$1,655,364. 

The Donnie Yen-starrer BIG BROTHER 大师兄 (PG13) is the week's highest debut at no. 2 with an estimated US$357,325. MILE 22 (M18) starring Mark Wahlberg and Indonesian star Iko Uwais kicks off with US$137,000 from 31 screens.

ALPHA (PG), the other wide release starts with US$110,199 from 33 screens, including IMAX. Malaysia's new highest grossing local film HANTU KAK LIMAH (PG13) debuts with an estimated US$109,385 from 8 screens.

Other new releases include HERSTORY (PG13 Edited) (3 Cathay screens) and REPUBLIC OF FOOD (PG13) (2 Cathay screens). HERSTORY is the 9th edited film of the year and the 4th in which the edited version is released in lieu of a "Passed Clean" version with a more restrictive rating. ROF is the 6th local release of the year.

Amongst holdovers, local scare pic 23:59: THE HAUNTING HOUR (PG13) has grossed an estimated US$408,372 after 2 weekends.
